Sequins and Songs 2025

Our annual quartet networking and performance event was held in March, featured 13 ensembles, and was attended by more than 100 people! This event has been running since 2019 and has become a highlight in the calendar for barbershoppers across South-East Queensland.

Blue Sky Harmony was well represented, with our members singing in three quartets. As always, the variety was fantastic throughout the day – we saw performances from brand new quartets, 'just for fun' groups, and contest-driven quartets.

There was dancing, laughter, beautiful harmonies, and many moments where our community spirit shone. There were also mistakes, and that's one of the things we love about Sequins and Songs – we always have a room full of people who understand live performance and are so supportive of each other!

Performance is energising, educational and builds confidence (as well as being entertaining for the audience). Providing the opportunity to gain this experience is the main purpose of this event.It also gives us an opportunity to socialise with singers from other choruses outside of conventions, strengthening our a cappella community.
